We are visiting Gulf Shores, AL, and have found two types of creatures washed up on the beach that we are trying to identify. We think each is a type of jellyfish, but would like some help. The first is sized between a baseball and a small basketball - we have seen just a few of these, and they range in size. They are tinged pink, and have no hanging tentacles. When laying on the sand, they looked to have these short pink squiggly things underneath which looked like bunched up tentacles. But they were hard to see if you turned it over - not sure if they were indeed tentacles. The other were tiny, about the size of a dime. They are perfectly oval, and perfectly clear. They looked like little breast implants. They have nothing inside or outside - just little jelly like ovals. You can roll them around in your hand a bit - they have some "give." Any help will satisfy our curiosities! Thanks.... Read More »
